Frequently asked questions about Rosa Ventures

Rosa Ventures is a junior mineral exploration and development company dedicated to discovering and advancing high-potential base and precious metals projects across the Andes region of South America. Its current portfolio features district-scale copper-gold assets in Northern Chile, with a strategic focus on building value through disciplined exploration and responsible development.

Rosa Ventures focuses on the Andes region of South America. It currently has projects in Chile and actively looks at opportunities across the Andean belt, including Peru, Argentina, Bolivia and Colombia.

Rosa Ventures’ flagship projects are the Polanco and San Lázaro copper-gold porphyry systems in Chile’s Tarapacá Region — two high-potential, drill-ready targets in the prolific Northern Chile porphyry belts, strategically positioned next to major mining operations and world-class infrastructure.

Polanco is a semi-outcropping, district-scale Cu-Au system covering ~2,800 hectares, located just 23 km from BHP’s Cerro Colorado mine. Previously advanced by Teck (who ranked it among their top global undrilled porphyry opportunities), it features a 2 × 1 km alteration footprint, fertile magmatic signatures, and strong evidence of hypogene chalcopyrite-bornite mineralization.

San Lázaro spans ~1,600 hectares only 15 km south of the world-class Collahuasi district. It targets a large, blind Tertiary porphyry under shallow cover within a multi-kilometre chargeability anomaly — a setting analogous to the major deposits of the district and ready for immediate drill testing.

San Lázaro is a high-potential porphyry copper-gold-(molybdenum) project covering approximately 1,600 hectares in Chile’s Tarapacá Region, located just 15 km south of the world-class Collahuasi mining district. Situated at 4,000 metres elevation with year-round access (about a four-hour drive from Calama), the property targets a large, undrilled Tertiary porphyry system under shallow cover within a multi-kilometre chargeability anomaly. Previous work by majors including Rio Tinto confirmed the geological setting; Rosa Ventures’ reinterpretation highlights a 2 × 1 km drill-ready target with multi-hundred-million-tonne potential analogous to the major deposits of the Collahuasi district.

San Lázaro has been explored by major mining companies. In the 1990s, CODELCO and ASARCO conducted reverse-circulation scouting drilling across the area as part of broader district-scale programs, with scattered cuttings showing evidence of pyrite and chalcopyrite.

In 2015, Rio Tinto completed an extensive induced-polarization (IP) survey followed by ten diamond drill holes totaling 4,725 metres. That work identified low-grade copper-gold mineralization under cover and confirmed the presence of a large chargeability anomaly, providing the foundation for the current Tertiary porphyry target.

Rosa Ventures has identified a large, blind Upper Tertiary (Eocene-Oligocene) porphyry copper-gold-(molybdenum) target covering a 2 × 1 km undrilled area immediately east of previous drill holes. The target lies under only 70–100 metres of post-mineral gravels and volcanic cover, sits within a moderate-to-strong chargeability anomaly, and is interpreted to be the source of the extensive copper-gold anomalies intersected in earlier drilling.

This setting is considered capable of hosting a multi-hundred-million-tonne deposit analogous to the major porphyries of the nearby Collahuasi district and can be efficiently tested with four to five vertical diamond drill holes of 500–800 metres depth.

Chile is widely regarded as one of the world’s premier jurisdictions for copper-gold exploration due to its exceptional geology, mature mining ecosystem, and stable regulatory framework.

The country hosts the richest porphyry copper belts on Earth — including the Paleocene and Upper Eocene-Oligocene systems of Northern Chile — which have produced some of the largest and highest-grade copper-gold deposits globally (Collahuasi, Escondida, Chuquicamata, Cerro Colorado and others). These belts continue to yield new discoveries under cover and at depth.

Chile offers secure mineral tenure, a transparent and well-established Mining Code, year-round access in the key northern regions, and world-class infrastructure (ports, power, roads and skilled service providers). Combined with a long history of successful major-company and junior exploration, a highly experienced local workforce, and consistent ranking among the most investment-attractive mining jurisdictions, Chile provides an ideal environment for advancing high-potential copper-gold projects such as those held by Rosa Ventures.

Rosa Ventures focuses primarily on copper, with gold as a significant byproduct. The company targets high-potential porphyry systems in the Andes that offer large-scale copper mineralization accompanied by meaningful gold credits, maximizing the economic potential of its projects.
